Resellers sharpen pencils with Aeras
Fixed wireless broadband costs slashed by one third
MONARCH BEACH, California — April 30, 2004 — Wireless resellers nationally are resubmitting major quotes to customers because of large cost benefits delivered by just-released Aeras wireless broadband products.
Aeras Networks (www.aerasnetworks.com), a US-based manufacturer of wireless broadband equipment, has signed a distribution agreement with Integrity Data Systems, to create an Australian channel for Aeras' line of WaveLink Broadband radios.
Integrity Data CEO Ross Chiswell said the market response has been immediate. "We've had a lot of keen interest in the Aeras products," he said. "We've already had six resellers requote projects that they had recently submitted because of the additional cost benefits offered by Aeras. They include resellers from Victoria, NSW, WA and Queensland."
Aeras Networks' distribution agreement with Integrity Data Systems represents the company's entry into the Australian market, which is experiencing strong wireless sector growth to the build out of wireless broadband infrastructure nationally.
The first public showing of Aeras products will be on the Integrity stand at CeBIT next week.
Aeras Networks CEO Bethe Strickland said the company was excited to partner with Integrity. "Integrity's strong wireless expertise and reputation for quality installations make it a valuable partner and an important channel to the Australian market," she said.
Mr. Chiswell said Aeras' next-generation wireless technology slashed the Australian cost of wireless broadband equipment by one third. "Aeras gives you 45 mbps full duplex performance for the price you used to pay for 10 mbps full duplex," he said.
"We're working with Aeras because its products deliver carrier-class reliability, offer a five-year warranty and are packed with great features at the right price, so they're a good fit for us."
The agreement appoints Integrity to distribute Aeras' WaveLink line of radios. Integrity's target applications include leased line replacement and distance learning, areas where wireless solutions deliver a strong value proposition.
Customers can choose between versions of WaveLink radios supporting license-free operation in either the 5.3 and 5.8 GHz Bands. The radios are easy to deploy, with convenient pole-mounting brackets and are optimized for all traditional voice, data, and video services. Each WaveLink radio is an all-outdoor unit, providing flexible site installations across a wide range of operating environments.
