Extending the Service Footprint

A large East Coast Multiple Systems Operator (MSO) found their service expansion efforts were increasingly being blocked by communities that restricted new fiber deployment. Businesses and residences alike within the communities had convinced local city governments to halt all new fiber trenching and installation, because of transportation inconveniences and loss of business due to the construction disruptions. The MSO needed to find a way to continue to deliver broadband services to new customers in the service area, so they turned to Aeras Networks for help.

Aeras recommended a powerful solution utilizing the WaveLink 4500 as a way for the service provider to pull high speed DS-3 circuits off of existing fiber rings, without filing for complicated construction permits or requiring any major new construction.

Thanks to Aeras Networks, the MSO can continue to expand their service footprint, without disrupting the community.
